I have seen a few Toshiba Satellite M305 and M305D laptops with exactly the same display problem. When you move the display panel, the image on the screen flickers, some random horizontal lines appear in random places or the image disappears at all. As soon as you stop moving the display, the image ether turns back to normal or the display continue to remain black.

Lately I’ve been seeing exactly the same problem with the power socket in some newer Toshiba Satellite L305/L305D and Satellite L355/L355D laptops. I don’t know if it’s a poor design or people just not careful enough with their laptops, but the power socket in these models breaks very often.
On the picture below you can see a good working power socket. The power jack is seated correctly. It’s tight and will not move when you plug in the adapter.

In this guide I explain how to add more RAM aka memory into a Toshiba Satellite A45 laptop. If you search for memory slots on the bottom of the laptop, you will not find any because both memory slots are hidden under the keyboard. Yep, in order to access both memory slots you’ll have to remove the keyboard. Don’t worry, it will take about 5 minutes even for inexperienced users.
Before you start, turn off the laptop, unplug the power adapter and remove the battery and of course, proceed at your own risk.

If your Toshiba Satellite M35X laptop is dead (out of warranty) and you would like to fix it yourself, you should take a look at this post. Apparently there could be a problem with the MAXIM chip witch is located on the motherboard, on the right side from the video cable connector.
Official service centers will list buying a new motherboard as the only solution for this problem. However, a new motherboard is not the only solution. Fixing the old motherboard is a better, faster and incomparably cheaper option. The entire process of opening up, repairing and reassembly of the laptop will not take about an hour.

Here’s how you can disassemble laptop and replace or upgrade memory aka RAM in a Toshiba Portege M400 Tablet PC. As you see on the picture below, there is no access to the RAM slots on the bottom of the laptop. Why? Because both RAM slots are hidden under the keyboard.

According to Toshiba specifications a Toshiba Portege M400 Tablet PC can handle up to 4GB memory total. That means you can install up to 2GB memory module into each slot. Toshiba Portege M400 configured with PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz memory modules.

In the following guide I explain how to replace the cooling fan in a Toshiba Tecra S1 laptop. The fan is a part of the cooling assembly, it’s permanently attached to the heatsink. If the cooling fan in your Tecra S1 started making noise, like in my case, you’ll have to replace the entire cooling assembly.
There are two different assemblies out there. The older assembly has part number V000020030 and newer one has part number V000020970. You can use either of them because they are interchangeable.
